Experience the difference San Diego Certified Financial Planner™ practitioners can make

Certified Financial Planner San DiegoExperience and continuing professional education combine to give the CCMI CFP® practitioners the skills to help you design a practical plan to educate your children, select employment benefits, retire with sufficient funds for your lifespan, own the right kind of insurance, invest in a properly diversified portfolio and create an appropriate estate plan for your family and for you.

While anyone can provide financial advice, it takes proven, specialized knowledge to become a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. The Certified Financial Planner™ (or CFP®) designation is a prestigious certification mark that is owned and awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. The CCMI team of Certified Financial Planner™ practitioners has successfully completed the CFP® Board’s initial requirements and continues to maintain their eligibility by meeting a stringent roster of annual post-certification standards.

In order to achieve and keep the CFP® designation, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner must:

  1. Pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Examination.
  2. Complete an advanced college-level course of study addressing the financial planning subject areas that CFP Board’s studies have determined as necessary for the competent and professional delivery of financial planning services, and attain a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited United States college or university. CFP® Board’s financial planning subject areas include insurance planning and risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning.
  3. Complete at least three years of full-time financial planning-related experience.
  4. Agree to be bound by CFP Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, a set of documents outlining the ethical and practice standards for CFP® professionals.
