At the firm….

Matt Showley attended a welcome reception to celebrate his joining of the Scripps Health Foundation Planned Giving Advisory Board.  This is a group of 30 accomplished professionals who serve as ambassadors for the Scripps Health Foundation’s efforts.  Matt is very excited to join the group and looks forward to learning about the great work taking place at Scripps Health.

Matt Ryan gave a presentation on Financial Fitness for a group at Crossfit Ocean Beach. He covered financial planning topics including budgeting, insurance, investing, and the importance of an estate plan.

Kim attended this month’s Women In Business board meeting and dinner event with speaker Wendy McKinney, who is the Chief Development Officer for the American Red Cross. Kim enjoyed hearing her personal insights, including the importance of stopping and evaluating where we are in life and celebrating our progress.

Brian has been busy preparing compliance related items for the year.  First up is the disclosure statement which has to be updated and filed with the SEC annually, and then sent to all of our clients.  A copy will be sent as soon as it is ready for distribution.

The CCMI team celebrated Katie’s birthday this month by going to lunch at Ponce’s restaurant in Kensington.  The team enjoyed burritos, guacamole and churros in celebration of Katie’s special day.

The CCMI team implemented a new time tracking and billing software this month. Katie has been busy setting up the software and training the team. You might notice a new look to our invoices. The team is very excited about this new software.

On the home front…

Brian’s family enjoyed attending Padres FanFest earlier this month.  Brian’s children, Emma (10), Kai (8) and Koa(5) loved running the bases, sitting in the dugout, catching fly balls in right field, throwing in the visitor’s bullpen, and taking a picture of robbing a homerun in left field.  It was a great day and the family is looking forward to baseball season.

Matt Showley and his dad, Lon, took Matt’s children Elizabeth and Jacob to the Jurassic World Tour at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  The kids loved seeing their favorite dinosaurs up close.  The Showley family has also been enjoying riding bikes around their neighborhood now that both kids have bikes of their own.

Katie finished up her winter club lacrosse season with a tournament in Del Mar and another recruiting tournament in Palm Springs. The tournaments were a lot of fun, but she is now enjoying her lacrosse-free weekends. She also celebrated her 30th birthday with family and friends. She had lots of wonderful dinners and went to Universal Studios to see Hogwarts.

Monica enjoyed having her three nieces from Madison, Wisconsin for a weekend in January. The girls had never been to California and had a list of things they wanted to see. They spent time showing them all the beaches in town along with a must stop to In and Out for hamburgers.

Kim enjoyed the last few days of having her parents in town from Maine.  They enjoyed the lovely weather and activities such as a harbor cruise, brunch at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse and a day trip to Temecula to name a few.

Matt Ryan took a weekend trip to visit his college roommate in Denver. They spent two days skiing at Copper Mountain. The first day was bright and sunny but the second day they had “free refills” all day long (when your tracks are filled with snowfall before you get back up to the top of the mountain).
